I just picked up on the point above about the overdressed look and rubbing off on clothes etc...

The point is I think if thats the case then too much is being used. The whole point of the Autoglym product is that it allows an element of control - you can apply and leave Matt, or buff with a dry clean cloth for a shine.

Twice I've had the car washed, both times the bumps have been left filthy and salt ridden.

Yep, its definitely time for a spring clean. I think the fall of the window line, door handles etc. channel some water into certain areas of the bumps and then the water streaks around the bumps. You do have to (in my opinion) put something onto the bumps to condition them. This thread is trying to find the best thing to use that helps us Aston, i.e.. something that lasts; so the product research will continue...when the sun comes out and I clean the car! Autoglym works, cost £7, but I suspect a bottle of Carplan (in place of the aerosol which I used) will also work...and be cheaper.

Used the autoglym trim and bumper gel several weeks ago and the airbumps after 4 washes still look like brand new , an ace product 😊
