Re: Touch screen cutting out

I have noticed many drivers are performing updates to their touch screens. SMEGS or something like this.

My suggestion is just leave the thing alone. Let it run on outdated software, it won't break down or cut out.

Re: Air-Conditioning

If (out of warrantee) you are having issues saying this part should never have failed (like mine) make a goodwill gesture for the costs of the gas. I was quoted about £1000 bill but I got it reduced and they accepted £200 for the refrigerant . It has worked fine ever since. Condensers are prone to s...

Re: Air-Conditioning

I agree, when I engaged my air-con I got a loud click from the compressor and then the hiss, the cold air followed. I did have an issue with mine which was going to cost about £1000 but its now sorted after much argument. Now I don't hear the click or hiss anymore. The issue was in the evaporator be...

could there be a gas leak from the air conditioner?
No, not air-con, you would smell refrigerant (hydraulic smell)

Re: Rotten egg smell in car

Hi there, we have a 67 plate Cactus that has been sat in the drive since lockdown began in March and hasn't moved. In this time it has had sticky sap from the big tree outside our house falling on it plus bits dropping on it from the tree, a lot of which congregates at the bottom of the windscreen....

Re: Door corrosion

Should you manage to have new doors fitted, they will require respraying which means the removal of the air-bumps. Advice: Check the doors every day as the hot weather softens the paint and the air-bumps tend to ripple the paint off the doors. Please see pics of how a garage can bodge to avoid the p...

Re: No heat out of the heater

Thank you to everyone who replied. Very strange as its never happened before. I revisited the car some time later, the heat has returned. I can only assume it must be a sticking thermostat.

Re: Air-conditioning fault?

I would love to be able to help you on this problem. I bought my Cactus from a year old (demonstrator) . The A/C was always going off, every 6 months did it need refilling. This was done under warrantee, they replaced every part of the system, compressor, condenser, refrigerant, more refrigerant and...

Re: Display doesnt work

Occasionally when I start the engine my display remains black. It can take up to a minute before it boots up. This does not happen very often. What I have noticed is if there are changes to the system which are noticed by the ECU pre checks eg after refuelling that it can take a few seconds for the ...
