Re: Door replacement following accident

As far as I know the other party's insurer cannot make your car a total loss. Unless you get your own insurer involved (I.e. Claim your own and send the other party's insurer the bill) Well don't, even if you have a protected no claims bonus, as you will swiftly lose that, if they suddenly change th...

Re: New Owner

Maybe the previous owners front seat passenger was very tall and headbutted the roof or they (like me) took the front passenger seat out (along with the rear seat squab) And used it to carry something long and wide. Like a shower cubicle in its carboard box and tray. Or a front house door complete w...

Re: Stop/Start selected but not working

Well unless this owner has had a second opinion. And their vehicle is still under a warranty. I would get it rechecked. When it does it I reckon. I usually read any handbook any manufacturer supplys with any item. When that draws a blank. Its back to my experience driving, repairing all types of com...

If it has happened to your Cacti. Sure as breathing in and out, it has happened to someone on here too.
Don't be shy though, everybody hurts.

Re: Intermittent loss of power and jerking.

Try this :ugeek: Remove all plugs to the Cdu check for burnt pins on the Cdu or burnt connectors. Spray a good electrical sealer, if the rubber boots are OK. Next check any wires coming from the sender at your exhaust, do the same there, but check for loose wires, wires that have frayed or ones that...

Re: Stop/Start selected but not working

Most stop/start systems only work once your car has warmed up, and as mentioned earlier the battery has enough charge/full of amps. The wife has stop/start on her 12 plate Fiat Punto. The battery in the Punto is the original one and still in top order, the stop/start now only works when the engine s...

Re: Vibration, rattle, knock.

I once had a 1976 Lada 1200 estate (for about three months) it had a strange noise that came from the rear o/s wheel when it was driving no sound was heard. But on slowing down, or driving slow, it drove (sic) me nuts too. On removing the Ford zodiac wheel caps (in spring before it last ride to the ...

Re: Test Drive Tomorrow

A diesel powered front wheel drive anything eats tyres. I normally swop rims front to back after about 10.000miles the Cactuses needed swopped at 6.800 as they had become a lot thinner (205x55x16). Even though I seldom drive into the turbo zip zone. But do drive into corners (in the dry) 😵 at speed ...

Undented optomism.

Any good bodyshop should have been able to repair this without removing the film. Or should be able to replace any transfer from the concessionary Psa or their own parts stock. I guess that's the path of auto repairs today.

Re: Test Drive Tomorrow

Maybe buy a Citroën small van, and drive it into the ground. Their build quality is (Citroën vans) much better (I reckon) than their passenger equivalent. And you can purchase a electric one too. To satisfy all the automotive vegans out there. The Cactus is a very nice and comfy car to drive, (Even ...
