Re: Door rim corrosion

Car went into the body shop yesterday. Got a call just now informing me that three doors have to be replaced.
Screen chip is now repaired, just a faint mark where the crater was.
As I have great turned down the dealership loan car, my pre war Austin Sevens are now pressed into service.

Re: Doors locking 1 min after unlocking

Mine does this also. I guess opening the driver's door is the master control. For the door locks. A similar scenario is the auto lock is only centrally unlocked by the drivers door. It’s a fun scenario when one stops, passenger gets out and can’t open tailgate. Driver gets out and opens tailgate wit...

Re: Door rim corrosion

Well the dealer rang me today and had arranged for my car to be dealt with by the body shop. I am not particularly happy as I am not assured that the doors will be replaced but that the corrosion attended to. If necessary the doors will be replaced. Either way the corrosion warranty will apply to th...

Re: Door rim corrosion

Back from the body shop. This was a new one for them. Although they have been used to the DS range having body corrosion. After inspection they said the problem is definitely coming from the inside and hence lifting the paint. Furthermore they condemned a second door as soon to gave the same issue. ...

Re: Door rim corrosion

My turn now! Having spotted this thread I went and took a look and my drivers door is afflicted. Paint loose and corrosion behind that. Been to the main dealer and as a consequence going to their body shop this afternoon for a proper valuation. http://www.mothy.co.uk/files/Citroendoor.png Roly.

Re: Wiper blade washer jet

Thank you.

l'll order a set of replacement blades. I assume there is no big deal in detaching them from the arms?

Cheers

Wiper blade washer jet

I seem to be going round in circles trying to identify what I need.
My near side wiper washer nozzle has snapped off where the pipe attaches.
Is the nozzle part of the replacement blade?
Or is it a separate item?

Thanks

Re: First Week in a Cactus

Lovely well thought out review. I agree with all the niggles. I also put MY Cactus in the same category into the same category as my first Mk 2 Jaguar. The experience was revolutionary. Admittedly that was after Austin Seven, Austin A35, MG TC. In those days a Mk 2 Jag cost £100. If it gave too much...

Re: Why the Fuel filler cap is on the left side?

I have heard that cars which have a fuel pump icon on the dash panel (which leaves out the Cactus) show the filler nozzle on the icon on the same side as the filler cap on the car is.
