Re: What is under the bonnet?

Ok going to upset folks now but that check list is little more than the checks done for the MOT. So is it more than filter and oil change. Things like spark plugs should be good for 60,000 miles. Mine will go to my local shop after 3 years, but then I have know them since we we're kids and I trust t...

Re: Replacing rear light unit

Really straight forward.
Read the manual as the only naddy bit is removing the bolt. A spot of grease on a socket to keep the nut in the socket when you withdraw it helps.
2-3 min job.

Re: Facelift Cactus vs Pug 308 petrol power what gives?

Say what? 8 gears don't make it faster! in fact can make it slower 0-62 and doesn't improve top speed! Not many countries in Europe have no speed limit! none that I've noticed in France , Belgium, Germany and Spain in the last 40 years of driving on the continent! But lets not let the laws of Physic...

Re: Facelift Cactus vs Pug 308 petrol power what gives?

Shows what a good package the proper Cactus is.110bhp and 0-62 in 9.3 sec.
And 70mph is the max speed you legally need so 120/130 makes no difference.

Just saying!

Re: Naughty Naughty Citroen!!

It's not only Citroen do it, they all do. But if you had been reading the news last week you will now know that it is going to be a legal requirement to have to tell a buyer if the car has originally belonged to a lease company. With the best will in the world, why did you think a 4 or 5 month old c...

Re: Wheels could not be removed

It's less to do with salt and cr@p and drainage.
It's a chemical reaction between steel and certain alloy'd metals. Steel on steel don't suffer the same problem.
Any metalergists who can give us the technical?
I did oxide and carbon systems but didn't cover metal alloys at Uni.

That'll work as well!
Sometimes wonder if a sheet of cling film would work just as well!

Re: Wheels could not be removed

sorry mate but that's fairly standard when you mix steel and alloys.
baulk of timber and a sledgehammer is the only way to go.
might be worth a quick spray of WD-40 (other release agents are available) before reassembly so should be easier next time.
probably not what you want to hear!
