Just a note,

remember M4a files can be 'lossless' or 'lossy' - i.e. M4a can be ALAC (lossless) or AAC (lossy)

the bottom line is ALAC files will play, but AAC files won't, so have a look in the file properties to see which they are.

If its a CD ripped on iTunes, it's probably AAC, because this is the default.

Just figured out how to play spotify from mobile via bluetooth...sorted! (unless driving in a no internet zone)

You just need to change your spotify music on to available offline & then you can play it when you don't have Internet connection.

I do that all the time & never had a loss of music (yet) lol

Yeah, if you have a premium account with Spotify I just create playlists and make them offline, basically they download all the tracks to your phone.
