Hello fellow members
I own a 2017 110 cactus c4 petrol. Few days while on the highway I had the have engine repaired message flash along with the service symbol which lit up. The car drove normally without any change. Once I switched off the car and turned it back on, all the messages disappeared. Obd2 diagnostics too turned up nothing.
A day later I noticed this roll of scotch tape type object within the front grill. It does not move but seems odd to be there. Attaching a photo.. Any leads would be greatly appreciated

As to the engine light as an owner of several Citroens over the last 40 years I can assure you of this.
1. If a light comes on and goes off after a restart, its probably nothing.
2. if a light comes on and goes off again, its probably nothing.
3. if a light comes on and stays on after a restart, its probably something! very few times does it mean your car is about to die.

so most times it's like a PC. Reboot.

If OBD2 says no then its a no!
we have had a lot of water recently!

If I had gone to the garage everytime an idiot light came on i'd have gone nuts. Citroen picasso was a case in point. that would throw an engine management light, the ECU then stores that and shows it for the next 10 starts and then drops the code (basically the engine didn't like being lugged). My C3 HDI threw a MAF code once. cleared it and did another 30-40K miles.

All that said most cars are the same, too clever for their own good.

My old Fiat Stilo didn't like driving through big puddles. When I drove through one or two (I stay in Scotland it rains quite a bit) Glasgow is famous for it River Clyde (I often wonder what fills up the long and winding fuc&) Now back to the water un-resistant electric loom on Fiat's. Well driving through a large puddle made my Stilos temperature gauge, fuel gauge and engine fan all start to act up big style, the gauges would read zero, the engine cooling fan wouldn't switch off (once it had started. A tin of Wd40 would sometime cure my a'lils) And so would Summer. As it rains much less and the loom dried out much quicker. I lived with this malarkey for nigh over 12 years before I traded it in for the Cactus in 2018. Now the Cactus does things quite differently, the passinger airbag warning light above the rear view mirror, sometimes has a mind of its own, and tells me it's not working (strange I may add) as I switched it off. As I don't want my dash on the left hand side to explode, as I may shi7e myself more in a minor bump. So are I possessed or are my cars. I should change my name to Mr Gremlin. But switching the the electrical system off and back on again cure's it.
