The catalytic converter was replaced under warranty when the car had its first service back in November. Since then the fuel consumption is significantly worse, around 10 to 15%. The dealership hasn't been able to give an explanation. Has anyone else experienced this?

No.

My simple knowledge of such things would suggest gas flow through the new cat is restricted. This could be because the cat is faulty (partially blocked), the wrong model or something along those lines.
