Hey what's up. Just joined from San Diego huge fan of the Cactus. Currently have a 13' nissan cube 1.8 S.

Was wondering if anyone here was knowledgeable in the area of exporting or maybe where citroen distributes the cactus? Just curious.

Anyway thanks for any help and look forward to learning more about the car and Citroën in general!

Welcome!

There are many companies that can export vehicles outside of the European Union, however it starts to get pricey VERY quickly. Dont forget that on top of the vehicle cost and transport costs you also have marine insurance costs, port handling fees and rent, customs and inspection fees, lifting fees amongst local taxes and import and vehicle inspection duties. You can also avoid paying VAT at purchase but will have to pay the appropriate vehicle tax in the US and there are numerous rules and conditions as youd expect. There are also companies that will do all that for you for one inclusive price (££££££££).

Plenty of info here https://www.gov.uk/taking-vehicles-out-of-uk/newly-bought-vehicles

A friend of mine imports a number of VW Campers from the States to the UK every year. He arranges this himself with his contacts in the US. As you can imagine there is a lot of wasted space in a container with a car in it. If you can fill it full of other things then it starts to become more cost effective...

There is certainly talk in the UK motoring press of Citroen attempting the try the American market again. In what form (DS or Citroen) and what models still undecided.
