Hi, expecting HDI Flair edition next week - has anyone found a source for a spare wheel / jack kit at all ?? I hate the thought of relying on the can in the boot ..

thanks

You can get the kit from a Citroen dealer. They got it for us plus a full sized spare - then found the full sized spare doesn't fit in the diesel wheel well!

Hi Stuart, just ordered my space saver 16 inch from eBay with all tools for £140, my flair edition is due Thursday, this is a lot cheaper than citroen.

Hi Claire, been trying to add link ( not very good at this ) if you type in search citroen space saver 16 inch it will bring it up. The space saver is for the diesel as the space in the boot won't take a full size.

Yeah was looking at the 15 inch originally, but even though it says 15,16,17 inch went for the second one at 16 inch which is as supplied.

Interesting - thank you, I am going to get myself one soon

Its bloody annoying that car manufacturers are doing this - I can kind of understand with the Cactus and how they are doing anything and everything to drop the weight down but others are doing the same like Nissan and our last car Mazda 6 which was a big family car so with LOADS of room in the boot so no need at all to not include a spare

Quite agree, I have had the can of foam with my current ds3 and it is horrible. Once I get the wheel and the cactus on Thursday I will repost that everything is spot on. The description on ebay does say it's a fit for the cactus.

Hi all

Took delivery today, pic under introductions.

Did add the cross members for the roof bars, spare wheel, cargo net and bulb kit to the order.

Cannot understand why the bulb kit was quite as expensive as it was!

Question, has anyone found a good solution for storing the jack with assorted tools, tow bolt and the included compressor in with the space-saver spare? They all fit in the well as it is designed for a full size wheel, just do not want them rattling around and obviously the provided holder no longer fits with the space saver in.

TIA and best to all.

Hi all, just got delivery today and my space saver came yesterday. Checked it all out and works fine. I have removed the foam compressor and put space saver wheel in the dug out. The jack ect. I have had to put in a bag in the boot just now as no room. Also no specific tool to remove the wheel bolt cover. Apparently you don't need one with the foam, have had to use a small screwdriver being careful as the covers are esily marked. So all in all £140 from eBay, brand new and it does what it says on the tin. Going out for a play later. :D

Hi, I take it that covers you for 17" wheels ? When I tried the search option it said it wasn't compatible .. Maybe best to phone them direct ,

I always carry a large cloth tarpaulin and a few old tee shirts which gives me something to kneel or lay on in the wet / dirt plus something to wipe my hands on and I stuff them all in the spare wheel area which stops any possible rattling.

I am open to correction but it appears that a space saver wheel comes as standard equipment for the Irish market. If this is the case what could possibly be the rationale for not doing likewise for the UK market ? Climate and certainly rural roads are very similar.

I don't undersand why they send 4 bolts too? Are then different from the original one?

I've bought a set of steel wheels for a bargain £59 delivered to transfer our winter wheels onto. One fits fine in the spare wheel well & with a £14 scissor jack from Eurocarparts I feel happier than having the foam.

I found it easy to get the 17 inch plastic caps off using two small allen keys through the holes & pulling.

If you want to be fully prepared visit a Pound shop and buy a tarpaulin, heavy duty rubber gloves, kargol type water proofs and an LED head torch. Use the last Pound from your fiver budget on some car wash
