Even the Hyundai i30 has the reversing camera situated like that.

Can't complain mine.. works well in all light conditions, just a quick wipe every now and then.

The camera could be fixed by having it recessed, rain would not get on the lens at the least and if back enough should enjoy enough protection from dirt. A plus point if done properly it would stop it getting lens flair from the sun being at the wrong angle.

Yeah we have a micro fiber cloth in the boot just to clean the lens :)

Maybe a good idea for the cactus.... (not a vw badge of course)

VW fixed the problem of dirty backup cameras with this simple technology

I'm glad that Cactus have camera like it have today. This kind of vw system does not work when is snow and ice.

Good point - in the icy weather it'd probably freeze closed and even worse might burn out the motor, although Id be surprised VW hadnt thought of that. I dont have any problems where the Cactus camera is and not had any issues so far.

Of course we all know what we'd rather have under the VW badge....an oil slick gun :)
