Well you can buy a set of discs and pads for £45.92 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brakes-Set-F ... 2708030229
So that's a bl00dy fortune for an hours work :o
My BlueHDI now on 37000 miles, flew through MOT and I reckon the brakes will be OK for another 20000 miles+, I've only done 9000miles myself and the car has been to the Alpes, twice.... Previous owner must have been gentle with the brake pedal

Rusty rear disc brakes

Post by Rubik » Mon Dec 04, 2017 1:57 pm

Please look at the pics of my rear discs and pad wear. Are they saveable?

The car has only covered 25,000 miles and these brakes didn't work properly.

I ask if anyone, a Citroen mechanic thinks they should have been covered under
warrantee for seized callipers?

I have forked out for replacements, should have cost £370 but got a slight reduction.

To me those parts don't look so bad - if I was dealing with the issue on my own car I would have un-seized the calipers, re-assembled the old discs/ pads etc and then checked how they looked after a week or so of use. Then make a decision on the need for parts replacement...

As a diy task it would be cheaper overall, but would take me much more time than a mechanic in a garage...
