Jerky start

Post by 1imshar » Wed Aug 08, 2018 7:10 pm

Recently my C4 Cactus 1.6 automatic has developed a intermittent but annoying fault. When in drive leaving a tight parking space and just wanting it to roll slowly forward with no power, it jerks like you are stamping on the brake. Noticed it more when A/C is on, and usually only when moving off after being parked. You would be forgiven for thinking the brakes were sticking, but they're not.
Car had a full service and the Citroen technician noticed it as well, but download showed nothing. It feels like it isn't producing enough power to roll like it should. Never a issue on a hill though. Occasionally it will roll back on a hill as well, but not sure if this is linked.
Very intermittent, but very annoying.

My has done the same. After the last service, I got a change of spark plugs and got 4 new wheels. Switched from Michelin energy saver to Michelin primacy 4.

I do not know if it's one of these 2 things but now it's running perfectly :)

If its the ETG semi auto box , I understand it doesnt have the `creep` facility that a full automatic, like the newer EAT 6 does. Maybe this is what you are experiencing.

Wow, did have the same problem (car was almost jumping when releasing breaks on first gear, like it would with a manual if you release the clutch like a pig).
Did the reset, the gear works fine again + it's really smooth now on changing gear !
