No interior fans.....

Post by Curtains » Tue Mar 17, 2020 4:23 pm

Afternoon

I have a cactus 1.2 (2016). The fans interior fans have stopped working. The temperature part still appears
To work as when I change the temp, the air trickles out without the fans turning.

Not sure whether it is the resistor or the fan itself. Is there anyway to tell as I can't afford a garage taking their time and fault finding.

I can change to resistor as this seems relatively simple - fan may be beyond me!!

I have looked at the resistor and it appears to be CE859001. Can't find anywhere to buy these new, any ideas??

Thanks

John

Bought second hand resistor and this doesn't seem to be the problem. Want to try the blower itself, any guidance on getting this out ?!?!

Do you have climate control? What happens if you set it to LO?

No fans blowing on any setting at all. Have tried switching out the heating resistor but didn't work. All fuses are okay. Next step was the fan but it is in the centre console so trying to work out if this is something I can do or whether I will need to pay the extortionate Citroen fees

Have you checked the fuses?

Fuses all okay, have switched out heat resistor. The fan would be my next logical test but looks like a nightmare to get out 🧐

Can you unplug the fan and the power straight off the battery to check it. I did this with my DS3. Just make up some wire with and inline fuse. My fan was not working, tried it straight off the battery and it worked. My resistor was at fault. New one off eBay was £40.
