Over the last year, consumption averages 55.8 mpg. Fair amount of driving is short trips, so very pleased with this.

I got my Cactus 2 days ago. I drove it roughly 100km from the dealer and got 4.3l/100km, not really caring about consumption. It was loaded with the extra set of winter tyres and a few odd bits here and there I had in my old car, along with a passenger.

Later that day me and my parents took it on an eco-drive to Sweden and ended up doing a 1100km roundtrip within 24 hours. We were 3 grown ups at around 100kg each, a not loaded car on the way down and a fully loaded car on the way back up. We did roughly 70 UK mpg (4l/100km) on the way down and around 63 UK mpg (4.5l/100km) on the way back home.

One half of the trip is up-and-down type of terrain at 60-80km/h while the other half is 90-110km/h motorway. We also had plenty of stops and did drive around for a while looking for parking :P

I'm really impressed at how easy it was to get this sort of mileage. I believe that with practice it's very doable to get the claimed 3.4l/100km.

PS! Always double-check tire pressure when on long trips on main roads/highways/motorways. It will help mpg quite a bit and you won't sacrifice much in terms of comfort.

Hi,

This is my statistic:
- Home <->Work: About 3.2-3.5 l/100km: Trip 60km, Speed about 80-90km/h https://goo.gl/maps/jpCy9TsUtEk

- Average: 4.2 l/100km: 683l/4.2l * 100km= 16300km

Rip Curl 110 s&s. 51.7 mpg
Over 4500 miles . All types of motoring. I would not expect it to go below 50.

Last week did a round trip Hastings to Bournemouth via Fleet and back, 288 miles clocked on 5 gallons of diesel in my Flair. Quite respectable MPG. I was a little surprised that my smaller, lighter cleaner 1.6 Cactus used more fuel than my old 1,6 C4 Grand Picasso would on the same journey. Both have 1,6 Hdi's with 6 speed semi auto boxes. My Picasso had Lunar mileage (280,000) on the clock, so maybe it was properly run in by then. The engine was totally original, never worked on, just an oil change every 6000 and oil and filter every 12,000.
I'm not complaining as I'm delighted with my little Cactus. Nice to know there's a pedigreed engine up front and given regular oil changes, might even better its older cousin and do 500k the equivalent of the moon and back!
