Take off the lids on both sides, unscrew the screws first the remove the clips and done. It sounds simple but you need patients, it took me 30 careful minutes to figure out after the screws what was holding it down. I got if you need them

I do think that, once we get out of warranties, this forum will be a great spot for sharing such mods. Lowering, different alloys, etc. The car is a great all-rounder and great value and lends itself to individualism. Clearly, there are going to be lots of us with stock cars (to retain their value) but I look forward to others going their own way. Roof bars on or off, and it being revisable (like the blanking plugs and vinyl cover idea) is great.

And surely roof bars are intended to be a young thing, so you can strap your bike, dingy, kayak, surfboard to the roof? I suspose you could fold your wheelchair up and strap that to the roof...if you had a step ladder....and that could go on the roof too! Oh hang on....

You have to pry them out with a large pry tool. You can start to pry at the top(end) of each bar

I think it looks better without them. I find mine get in the way when I am washing the vehicle. I have to stand on a chair to see the top of the roof. I will never use them for carrying anything. Next time I get a car I will try to get one without roof bars.

I have no roof bars on my cactus. I like the look of the car a lot without them. Looks a little different. Car came without them by choice. .
