Presently on holidays in the Canaries, weather not brill either, but picked up a hire car which turned out to be an 82 Feel (Spanish spec)..in hideous yellow..but it's growing on me and I can always find it in any car park..It has cloth seats but not uncomfortable unlike the last one I test drove, hence getting one with leather.. Although my 110 has grunt to spare and is a great drive, the 82 surprised me..It's a bit newer than mine with similar mileage so a reasonable comparison test..I certainly wouldn't consider anything other than the Flair, if only for the camera :D ..Parking this is a right nause.

Anyway whilst away my dealer contacted me as Citroen have now released another batch of the old model with about 40% off list price and appear to include metallic paint to get rid of them..Plenty of 82 and diesels apparently..asking if I was interested in getting one of the last..thinking about it...a new Flair in metallic, albeit with the 82 engine for a touch over £11k is worth thinking about..even better as it doesn't suffer the dreaded S/S

Anybody heard about same or better deals???......by the way have been hearing from 2 sources that the new Cactus are not selling well so far, so their might be some big push on them soon.. decisions decisions.

I don't think it would suit me going from an 110 to an 82, your holiday probably felt better because it was a holiday! Think of it in your normal use.

Whilst there are some great deals out there I suspect you could regret it pretty quickly

Thanks for that, appreciated..I know what you mean and I've been driving it quite a bit on various types of roads and conditions and it feels fine, especially round town..However the 110 is well on top of its job, spirited and I haven't yet decided against it. Car deals are like buses, they'll be another along shortly.

I have a 2015 top spec (apart from leather and park assist - no use for any of those...)

My 82 do have S/S....and the by everyone hated E5G-gearbox....and I love it. Every little bit.

The one thing thou - If i was driving with a lot of weight in it...like 4 ppl and filled up with "stuff", I'm quite sure that I would feel some lack of power - but i'm getting used to it not being a sports-car, and I actually would live with that too.

Well I`ve finished the two weeks `comparison test` and returned home, with food for thought. Gave the 82 a good test, up hills and round towns. What impressed me was the flexibility in higher gears. I regularly got down below 30mph and it stayed in 4th and picked up again without changing gear. At times on quiet roads it was almost like an automatic. The fuel consumption in converted to mpg was mid 40`s, without any long runs obviously. Yesterday I went out in my 110, did the usual towns, hills etc and was suprised how differently geared the 110 was. It spent most of yesterday in 3rd, sure, power was there if you toe`d it but I didnt really need it much.

Most of my journeys are completed with 2 of us, only occasionally with 4. Long runs are rare although well loaded when undertaken. In fairness although the 110 spends more time in 3rd the fuel economy is very similar to the 82..

Certainly found the cloth upholstery far more comfortable than one I test drove some time ago, hence getting one with leather. So in short unless they make me an offer I cant refuse with some added goodies thrown in (unlikely) I`ll stick with what I`ve got..But for anyone taking the plunge the 82 is adequate for most daily needs.........oh and its a good bit cheaper on insurance as well..
