Glass roof

Post by SunShineyShe » Wed Dec 18, 2019 8:20 pm

Thought I'd ask, in the summer does the sun beam through the glass roof causing extreme heat??

I would bet on a high level of heating, some video reviews confirm this and even the accessory catalogue for the mk2 cactus contains a 2 pc sunblind to "keep the interior temperature down". Of course this depends on the country in which the car will be used.

"Panoramic Glass Roof
The large panoramic glass roof that New Citroen C4 Cactus is always a good place to be throughout the seasons. Maximising light, it offers UV and heat protection during summer, and in winter it reduces heat loss thanks to excellent thermal insulation. This also helps to optimise the air conditioning, whilst noise-reducing laminated glass keeps the interior quiet and refined."

Worked as claimed, so far.

The panoramic roof is an excellent option it is no hotter in summer than a car without ,its great all year round as it makes the cabin always light, no need for a blind, i think they will be a good selling point, when/if we decide to sell.

Had mine through three English winters and summers now, and it's been great. Never a problem temp wise, and my kid loves looking out of it at the sky! Makes the car feel far roomier inside too.

£ C4 Picassos and a C3 with panoramic sunroof. No issues with car getting hot apart when parked in sunshine at high temperatures. Use the blind when parked and the aircon soon gets the temperature down.
