Any hunters out there?

Post by FarmerR » Thu Mar 16, 2017 5:00 am

I'm currently taking a hunters class to get a gun license for hunting. I have some land with all from rabbits to moose I thought I'd take advantage of. Will be passing the final tests in may.

Any of you guys hunters? If so what's your favorite game?

I'm really excited to get out there! :)

Any hunters?! Hunting and killing/maiming animals for FUN is absolutely disgusting.
This forum is a cactus forum, not a site for advocating animal cruelty.
Presumably those guns tests you do, don't involve checking of any ethics!

Who said anything about killing animals for fun?
FarmerR just said he is about to take advantage of the land with different animals on it.
I must say, it is a wld guess and a very bad accusation to do.

As a hunter for many years, I love hunting f.ex. ducks and geese - mainly because they taste super fine.
Hunting different birds are fun, but this happens as a part of regulation at f.ex. an animal farm, where specific birds make great damages (crows).

Finally... it's just not as fun shooting carrots with a shotgun ;-)

Why? A real hunter only hunts for 2 reasons: either for food or for regulation.
So either you would have to eat some people or would be hunting them for "regulative reasons"... both being not very political correct...

The section its posted in is for off topic chat. i.e. anything not Cactus related. Therefore discussions regarding hunting are perfectly reasonable to me.
Im not a hunter and personally wouldnt want to ever do it, but I respect the right for other people to at least talk about it. If you are so anti the activity, dont read the thread. I think the title is explanatory enough for you to not come upon the topic by accident.

Humans has since long put the balance of nature out of play. What do you think would happen if there were no hunters? Seen any wolfs around lately to keep the population of hares and deers down? No?
And animal cruelty. Go on YouTube and check how any (ANY!!!)predator kills it's prey then compare with a hunter shooting an animal.

That said. This thread was meant as a discussion among hunters. Activists please stay away from this thread. It's not for you.
