Tbd at the moment!

Kind of relevant...(EU Law) as of next year all new cars will be fitted with instant emergency alert in the event of an accident.

In the event of the driver being in an accident, incapacitated and or out of mobile coverage the car will call the emergency services with location to allow emergency services to find you. The driver will be able to communicate with operators by hands free.

So...who owns the data captured (tracks) as you drive?

I suppose insurance will settle on "knock for knock" basis? But then would one lose their 10 year NCB? If not the driver then no. Also how could a new driver build up NCB? :(

The whole car 'ownership' model will change anyway, you won't own a car but pay a subscription like for TV or Spotify, then just text for a car when you need it. It'll be great, a 7 seater when you need one, or a little one when you don't. This is what Ford is working to. No need for insurance, it'll be their problem.

But for some of us ownership is a joy and to have pride in our car.
So a driverless car will be just another form of public transport? :(

I don't think driverless cars will take all the normal cars off the road in our lifetimes.

I would think if two collided it would be whichever one was at fault by analysing the computer data used to control them.

I think the only way they will ever become a success is when all manually driven cars no longer have access to most of the public road systems.
