Questions about C4 Cactus (and comparing new 2018 model to older ones).

Hello everybody, 24 yr old C4 2003 driver here looking to buy a C4 Cactus. First of all, visually I really like the pre-2018 a lot more but there is so many half-assed information floating around imho. Most reviews say the backseats are a single part, most cars I've seen have a 2/3 split though.
I'm a bit worried about the 82 hp version. I'm not an "aggresive" driver by any means but how about a full trunk and 3+ passengers? There are barely 110 hp versions available here (Germany). For the 2018 model there are plenty 110 and 130 hp versions though...
Another thing I don't want to go without is DAB/DAB+. Most pre-2018 models (like... all?) don't seem to have DAB/DAB+ and you can't easily upgrade it it seems. Do the 2018 models have DAB/DAB+?

Also how does the new hydraulics system of the 2018 Cactus compare to the older ones. Is it a lot better or not really worth the money? The seats seem to be a lot more comfy though with these cushion packs.

Hi Hardus77,

Please bear in mind that spec levels in the UK are different compare to the models sold in Europe.
DAB is very common in the UK spec models, I believe also the entry level model does have DAB.

Also small upgrades or changes have been made over the years, for example I have the Diesel 2015 Flair spec and unfortunately I don't have that very useful split rear bench whether later (but same spec) models are indeed equipped with this.

Regarding the engine power output I would suggest just book some test drives and try different engines and see what suits you best.

The original model had split seats fitted in early 2016 but you will find cars from stock registered later in that year that had the split.

The new model has a proper driving position courtesy of reach adjustment on the steering wheel.

You’d need to drive the engines in your budget, I would personally go for the turbo 1.2 over the 82 version (either 110 or 130).

Ive had my 66 reg Cactus since march its a 1.6 blue diesel and previously I hired a 1.2 diesel for a weekend while my car at the time was in the garage....The one big thing I did notice was the 1.2 when pulling onto a fast road with 3 passengers was a little scary especially since I was used to a 1.6 ....the 1.2 in that situation had no guts to it , fine around town ......My 1.6 cactus on the other hand pulls away no problem.

In the past, Citroens were always soft and soothing, and with the C4 Cactus the focus has been placed very much on comfort. It's relaxing to drive and, although it doesn't handle quite as sharply as some other family hatchbacks, it's still fun to hustle down a country road.
