puretech tsb

Post by berapotter » Sat May 25, 2019 11:01 pm

Have recently had a small amount of oil dropping from the 110 puretech.
Closer inspection shows it coming from 1 of 2 blanking plugs on the delivery side of the rocker box.
Long story short, its a known issue and has had a tsb (technical service bulletin).
The leaking plugs flick out and new ones push in. Parts are only available from Citroen, have to be ordered and cost less than £4 for the pair.
This might have already been flagged up on here in which case apologies, it may also have been on Peugeot and DS forums.
Only applies to PETROL engine (puretech)
C4 Black Flair 145 s&s, C3 Aircross white Flair130 s&s.

Should this not be a warranty issue?

Sorry in advance as I have a distinct lack of knowledge about cars!

My wife’s cactus (110 puretech flair 15 plate) went into a local garage the tail end of last year because the engine stop and service lights came on.

They hooked the car up to diagnostics and seemed a bit stumped. They found a bulletin suggesting there might be contaminants in the sump and associated parts. After clearing the sump the warning lights went off and we left it at that as we didn’t have the money at the time to get the rest done especially if that wouldn’t resolve the issue. They changed the oil and filter (this had been done in a recent service also).

Problem is we now an intermittent engine light saying get engine repaired and low oil pressure stop engine.

We’re at a bit of a loss as to whether to get the oil system fully cleaned out which will take quite a few hours or take it to a main dealer.

After this long story what I wanted to ask is do you think the TSB you mentioned could have anything to do with our issue? If not any suggestions?

Many Thanks for any help offered and sorry again for knowing nothing about cars!!!
