Post by davehu57 » Sun Jul 21, 2019 3:17 pm

Hi, any one figured out how to get to the heater fan in a cactus to fit a replacement resistor?

I had the Cooiling Fan resistor fail twice in 25,000 miles, one of the reasons for losing faith with Cactus

Yes did mine Undo 2 Screws on the plastic top and lift up and there is a small plastic lug to take of the the Air filter housing off and you will see it.

Thanks for the info Guys!
Ffrs1444, when you replaced yours, did you access the blower motor from under the bonnet? Never thought of looking to get to it from there, I've been stuck in the passenger footwell!!

Ffrs1444, davehu57 do you have any information about how (and where) to get to the heater blower fan assembly? My engine bay doesn't seem to match your description FFrs1444. My fan completely packed up without warning - doesn't work on any speed at all, but can't find a description of the relays so I don't know which one it would be and suspect the resistor that is often describe as "a common fault". Any info appreciated - don't have the money lying around at this time of year to pay someone to fix it.

The heater resistor is accessed from the passenger footwell. There is just one torx bolt holding the clip. Not a big job to remove.

If anyone else is looking for this info. The heater just twists out of the housing. You just need to lift a little locking tab with an arrow on and twist clockwise. (Looking at the end of the motor from the passenger footwell). It's more difficult to get it out from under the dash
