Headlamp Bulbs.

Post by meldrew » Thu Oct 24, 2019 6:36 pm

I have a 2016 Cactus and I am not pleased with the brightness of the headlamps, particularly on dipped beam, they seem very poor as opposed to many other modern cars.

I am looking to uprate the bulbs, but thought I would enquire if anyone else has done this and if so what bulbs used and where from.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I've tried several different uprated bulbs.
At the moment I'm using twenty20 Hybrid bulbs from ABD.

4000K so a bit whiter than some of the +150%, which I personally think is more use although only +65%. More light output and whiter works for me. Only £12/pair also helps.
The "problem" of that darkness right Infront of the car is well known. The recessed light housing certainly doesn't help.

I'm sure others have their own personal favourites!

Currently running Philips RacingVision +150% H7 in the dipped beam and Philips X-treme Vision +130% H1 in main beam. Much better than the originals.
