Engine temperature fault light

Post by Cath » Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:54 pm

Since driving home from work on Monday I've had an engine temperature fault light pop up every 10-20 minutes or so on the dashboard. Took it in for its service on Wednesday and they couldn't find the fault. When I take the key out the fan still goes round for about 10 minutes after. The garage are discussing the issue with their techs but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue? My first thought was a bird stuck in the fan because I drive on back roads to work but the mechanic has advised that the fan is internal. Does anyone have any ideas? It's a cactus feel blueHDI 2015

Most dealers don`t know shi&e about their wares, apart from how to sell them to you, the spanner twirlers don`t know how to tie their own shoe laces without consulting their laptop  .
All I ask is manufacturers to tell you. Don`t switch the engine off whilst moving :P . I.e. when coasting up to a traffic signal that is notoriously long. As firstly, when you switch the ignition back on, the dash binnacle warning light for the traction control switches off. and warns you to ` take car to dealers `

Once you switch the ignition off and on again (next stop or traffic signal.) It magically switches the traction control (don`t use it anyway as its a pain in the ar$e) on again. So watch out HAL :ugeek: 9000 is watching over you.

The latest bugbear, is the DPF warning coming on because you have been driving in slow moving traffic, or a contra flow And HAL :ugeek: 9000 warns you your diesel cat is clogged and `GO TO YOUR NEAREST DEALER WILL ROBINSON.` But as soon as you boot the car (apart from all the soot that spews out the back end) The warning light goes out.

Maybe my Cactus is haunted, by my old Fiat nemesis. Me (ignore all warning lights when possible) its driver.
`" `In order to win once, you have got to get used to losing a whole lot of times. That's why I no longer buy Fiats.`"
