That sounds plausible but why is my ability to see out the rear camera be stopped while its acquiring a satellite fix?
From watching the update process I can see its a multitasking OS, so should be able to do the GPS stuff in a background task.

I agree with your point - in fact we actually just get a splash screen obliterating all the functional choices and the camera view.
We might benefit from an explanation by the actual writer of the software to explain that, along with a few other things - for example why is the satnav process to select the destination so clunky and on that theme I would really like to know if the satnav has ever been used by the software writer and have they ever used another product such as a Tom-Tom?

Why is there no choice of a QWERTY keypad layout ?

You are downloading your firmware from a Peugeot site. The Multimedia sets are similar. but not exactly the same. Maybe that is the reason that you do not see any real changes in display or function.

Theres startup time and there is startup time.

From what I can tell the display doesn't always power down completely. Sometimes it starts from scratch and others it very quick.
The logic for which is beyond me as it seems inconsistent.

I could be wrong and have miss-remembered, but a new feature seems to be that the selected airflows for the heater are now
displayed at the top of the screen. Don't think these were before,

My 2015 Flair always has had the airflows displayed at the top along with temp and fan speed, regardless of displayed screen, press it to enter heater settings. Touch screen never been a problem and never been updated, (probably go wrong now I've said that).

You may be correct - but some Peugeot owners say they also cannot see any significant change after the update...

how is this left guys i ave 2015 software on my unit dec 2016 car flair
ive updated the maps.
Ive noticed that the vents on the updates have waves coming out of them and the start up logo is very fast .
That id be happy with also the radio station larger to hit.

You should have downloaded an exe file along with the rar files
'Execute' the exe file and it will create a folder called 'SMEG_UPG_PLUS' on your PC, copy the whole folder to your stick, I'd recommend at least 8gb, 16gb better probably....

Like I said earlier, you're asking for trouble downloading a file that's over a gig in one go without bittorrent and via mega......it might have worked in the past but it certainly didn't work for me a few days ago AND I've got fast internet.....

PS i have a Mega account and downloading it was not a issue.
I have done all the sat nav updates and POI updates in the past RSK etc. however cannot get the SMEG update.
Hence wondering if it is to do with what i initially wrote above, Is it that it wont jump from my version to the version i want?

scatrat, have you looked at the guide? If you don't even get to the first pic then there's probably something wrong with your stick or the way you've copied the files over...
