Could it be the battery?
My Citroen C4 Cactus BlueHDI 100 2016 without Stop and Start has been running on its Varta OEM battery with no problems. However, recently, it has rebooted the touch screen tablet every few minutes and the only real consensus online indicates this is a battery related problem. The OEM is five years old so not a bad life. When I checked on line how to change the battery - as a 73 year old, something I have done many, many times - I was amazed that no forum or manual could explain this, usually, simple procedure. The new battery arrived and so I started the dismantlement procedure as explained for a similar model. However, once the terminals were removed + first ( usually it is - ) and then the ECU - engine control unit - that clips to the right HS of the plastic battery box. Now I expected to see a triangular metal clamp underneath that unit but there was nothing. After a nights sleep I went back again and noticed that the battery could be moved a few millimetres in all directions. No clamp. I came to the conclusion that it just clipped into the box and that by applying a little pressure to the left hand side of the box the battery could be rocked out. A crowbar was the tool of choice and with bated breath I gently levered the box on the LHS away from the battery's bottom rim. At the same time I pulled the top of the battery to the right. And out it came. And for this a garage wants ÂŁ20 to ÂŁ60 fitting charge. I have come across many different clamps in my life but never this click and clamp type. I'm sure it is secure but it is not often you need to take a crowbar or tyre lever to fit a battery.
Aligned new battery and pushed down hard and it clipped into place. Everything worked...just reset time and date.
I will get back about if the touch screen tablet rebooting is now cured.
