Window scratches when going up and down

Hello, can someone please help. We have a Citroen cactus 2015. We noticed that there were A LOT of vertical scratches on the windows when we bought it so it went back 4 times now. They keep cleaning debris and polishing window to remove scratches, it’s fine for few openings/closings and then it scratches again. It’s really bad, sounds like hundreds of stones scratching against window. Does anyone have any idea what causes it. I really don’t want to go back to the dealer for the 5th time as they clearly don’t know what they’re doing.

The black rubber moulding on the outside base of the window frame may have debris stuck in the felt. The felt is the part of it that touches the glass. It is pretty easy to grab and pull off, perhaps then it could be washed or pressure washed and inspected for stones stuck in the felt. My cactus lives outside and i have noticed the felt has moss growing on it if you look closely. I will probably pull em off soon and wash because this bugs me. Just be aware that once they are pulled off they may not be as tightly attached to the frame after you push them back on.

Put you window down, slowly put a ruler (wrapped in a very thin cloth like the ones used to clean floors/furniture) or anything non metal along the gap betwixt the window and the felt/plastic. And slowly wipe all the detritus away and to the side. Then squirt in some non salt bearing cleanser. Wash that out, then squirt some Wd40 or similar oil in there.

Most of the crap that has been scratching your window, may be sand, road grit or even tree bark/metal filings.

Also never asked you this. How fast/slow does your window go up/down? As it may even be particles old trapped glass that is scratching the glass. So give your door a shake to see what rattles!!!!
